Sponsor PACs are PACs run by a company, union, trade group, membership group or cooperative, counting only their direct contributions to the candidate's own campaign committee, refunds subtracted. The counts under each PAC are every Democratic and Republican candidate it gave to this cycle, this one included. The money breakdown uses the FEC summary of the campaign's own reports: "people" is contributions from individuals, "PACs and committees" is everything from PACs and other political committees, "party" is party committees, "own money" is the candidate's contributions and loans, and "transfers, other" is the rest, mostly transfers from joint fundraising committees.
